HUGS Fundraiser Dinner and Concert

I had the opportunity to be the official photographer at the annual HUGS fundraising dinner and concert. This was hosted by a local surgeon (Dr. Quatela) that began this non-profit to travel worldwide and fix childrens facial deformities for free. Surgeries that repair issues such as cleft lips, cleft palates, and microtia are just some of what Dr. Quatela teaches and completes. They have been in countries such as Vietnam, Ecuador, Peru, and Guatemala, with more countries to come.
The band 'Blood, Sweat, and Tears' performed with special guest Jeff Coffey, which made for a night of great music that got people up and dancing! The food and drinks served were all elegant and delicious, and everyone had a great time.
This was my first time ever photographing an event like this, so I was honored to be chosen to capture this night for the HUGS team! I'm hoping to begin branching out with my portfolio to photograph more events like this, and eventually begin getting to capture weddings. I learned a lot about my camera from this event, as well as how to edit photos in lightroom just enough to make them stand out. I'm so grateful for this experience and hope to be able to participate again next year.
